In this important video, we attempted to repair the Lenovo ThinkPad E460 E560 laptop
The motherboard for this laptop is coded BE560 NM-A561 REV 1.0
The problem with this device is that it works without displaying data on the screen
Before starting the repair process, and through visual examination, we found that there was a burnout in one of the circuits, specifically in the upper mosfet of this circuit, and this circuit is one of the processor’s feeding circuits, specifically the VCC_SA circuit.
We began the repair process by measuring the impedances in all circuits, and all impedances were almost normal
Then we moved on to connect the motherboard to the power supply (Power Supply) for the purpose of measuring the circuit voltages and ensuring their safety.
So we can see that all circuits work except for the three processor feeder circuits: VCORE VCC_GT VCC_SA
This is logical and natural because there is a burn and damage in one of these circuits
We moved directly to the process of repairing the damage in the VCC_SA circuit, using the general diagram of this motherboard.
After treating and repairing the accidental burn, replacing all the damaged paths, replacing the charred MOSFET with another, and making the necessary measurements before operation, it was found that there was a defect in the controller of this circuit, the MOSFET DRIVER.
After replacing it, the measurements returned to normal, indicating that the process of repairing this circuit was completed successfully, praise be to God
We proceeded to the process of operating the motherboard for the purpose of experimenting and ensuring that it worked completely. It was a surprise!
The VCC_SA circuit that we repaired worked perfectly, but the other processor power efforts, VCORE VCC_GT, did not appear, and thus the device remained as it was, working without displaying an image on the screen!
After conducting a series of tests and measurements, we confirmed that there was damage to the processor itself, which made us stop at this point.
