We look at how to diagnose MULTIPLE CAN Bus faults using the PicoScope 2204A. We perform automotive oscilloscope CAN bus diagnostics on the high speed Powertrain CAN Bus network. We will look at how to set up the oscilloscope for CAN Bus Diagnostics and then install various faults on the network. We investigate how to identify CAN Bus line faults: short together, short to ground, short to positive and open circuit faults and analyze the oscilloscope waveform.

We are using the PicoScope 2204A oscilloscope; it is not designed to be an automotive oscilloscope, but it does a great job, especially for the price!! Links below. It's a good cheap automotive oscilloscope. We use the PicoScope 2204a oscilloscope to analyze a CAN Bus waveform while different faults are installed.
