The Eclampsia Evil is an animated story produced by Khmer Narrated Stories Channel talking about a girl named Chanthu, who had no parents since she was young. She lived with her husband named Neay Kan. She was pregnant and almost gave birth to her son when Neay Kan left her to live another girl named Phalla living Chanthu alone in the cottage whose walls were built by Kontel (a kind of carpet that Cambodian people used to sleep on) with holes everywhere. Phalla was the niece of a priest's wife. The priest's name was Pu Sai. Time passed to the time she was about to give birth to her son but because she was alone in the cottage, she passed away and because the metal pain before she died she became the Eclampsia Evil who waited for her husband in the cottage. After she became the evil, she sang songs on the tree in front of the cottage to make her baby sleep and made her voice loudly in order to let people hear her song whose meaning is to send message to men to be responsible for their wives and children.
At the end of the story, the villagers gather to ask the chief of the village to send Neay Kan and Phalla to the cottage to give them to the evil so that the three can talk to each other and to prevent the evil to hunt the villagers any longer. The moral in the story is to be responsible for your family, your wife, your children. Sometimes you don't know that women has been struggling in their lives so much already. So respect women.
