This is a great snowshoeing trail for beginners. Half of my friends in the video were the first time snowshoers who rented the equipments from REI. They really enjoyed the day.
We parked our cars at Donner Summit Snopark (https://goo.gl/maps/3K2EudwrHLFfWkW29).
We purchased sno park permit online from https://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1233
We started at 7:30AM and came back to our cars before 2PM, spent an hour at the summit for lunch.

If you never snowshoed before, but you are interested in giving it a try, buy a pair of gaiters and rent a pair of snowshoes from REI. Keep your eyes on the weather forecast and go in a bluebird day. The clear, cold and no wind day just after a snowstorm is the ideal to enjoy the winter wonderland.
