Can't get enough of the "Wish You Were Here" album. David Gilmour playing a Strat is such an inspiring sound. Here's how I play this classic. Hope you dig it.
a couple notes:
I've always thought the opening muted clicks were the bass, but they can certainly be added on guitar.
if you like the effects and tone:
I'm using an MXR phase 90 (set @ about 10 o'clock) and an Ibenez tube screamer (drive @ 8 o'clock and level @ 2 o'clock)
my strat is an American Deluxe with the pickups in the 2 position and tone controls both at about 6
I meant to play the Dadd4 again (instead of D major) during the chorus's measure of 5/4: C - Dadd4 - Em - C
