This is Sugar Loaf mountain in Brazil - no, not the one in Rio, this one is some 250 kms down the road near a town called Paraty and I decided to hike to its sweet peak. I planned to go through the jungle (Phase 1), attempt to convince a local to boat me across Saco do Mamangua (Phase 2) before scaling the saccharine summit (Phase 3).

Would I get lost in the jungle?
Would I be able to find a boat?
Would I be able to complete it in a single day and get back to the remarkable Remo Hostel before dark?
