Author of BOY ROBOT, Simon Curtis, shares his It Gets Better story.

"As a young person growing up in Oklahoma, I was surrounded by a message always of, being told that what I was inside was wrong, and was not acceptable, and not accepted in the world," shares Simon with the It Gets Better Project.

Simon overcame leukemia at a young age, but his struggles didn't end there. Outed before he was ready to come out as gay, Simon endured initial yet intense rejection from his family, even from his mother who grew dangerously ill. And yet, Simon reminds us that it does get better. Eventually, he reconciled with his family, and today Simon enjoys immense success here in LA as a singer, producer, and author.

Of Simon Curtis's novel BOY ROBOT (2016), bestselling author of READY PLAYER ONE Ernest Cline says it is "infused with intelligence and empathy."

Though his coming out was fraught with obstacles, Simon's experience demonstrates that life's wildest dreams come into fruition by living in truth.
