The 2024 Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series arguably had the most anticipated release to date this decade with it breaking the internet time and time again in the lead up to its eventual reveal and later launch. Point being, expectations were high for the new-generation 4WD wagon and it certainly delivered at the time.

But it's now been a few years since the new LC300 arrived on the scene, so how well is it ageing? In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Emily Agar and her family of three spend a week living with its GR Sport flagship to find out.

The timing of this test is particularly pertinent, as the LC300's direct rival, the Nissan Patrol, is about to get a next-gen model of its own, dubbed the Y63. Much like the Toyota, it's expected to get a twin-turbo V6 engine, albeit with petrol instead of diesel. Either way, the LandCruiser 300 Series is about to feel real pressure for the first time.
