The Milford Discovery Centre staff were treated to an unimaginable end-of-season surprise by our manager, Andrea. She told us to close the centre down early and return to the harbour where she gave us instruction to dress in warm clothing and sturdy shoes. She then drove us down to the airstrip where we boarded a helicopter, destination unknown. Much to our surprise, we flew up over Bowen Falls, then across the fjord where to cruised passed Footstool and up Mitre Peak's ridge line. We spent a couple hours hanging out up there, having lunch and enjoying a couple beers. What a spectacular afternoon!! :)
