The Hudhud consists of narrative chants performed in different occasions in Ifugao. It is actually sung during palay sowing season, harvest time and during funeral and wakes as rituals. The "Gotad ad Kiyyangan" which is done annually is a festivity of culture, traditions and the people thus singing and chanting of the HUDHUD is part of the celebration. This tradition is passed through generations and was able to be established as part of the contested events during the said activity. The GOTAD AD KIYYANGAN is celebrated on April 30 to May 4 in the Municipality of Kiangan but due to COVID -19 for the past 2 years, We only celebrate a day of Festivity which is May 1,2022 exactly.
