Written by Sonny Bono and Jack Nitzsche and recorded by Jackie DeShannon in 1963, Needles and Pins became a big hit in 1964 for the Liverpool group, The Searchers. Here De Shannon lip-synchs the song in 1966 on the "Where The Action Is" TV show. Needles and Pins introduced the jangly folk-rock sound.
