Lost this pig after 9+ hours on the rod. The tuna was just below the surface ready for the kill shot w/ the harpoon. Too many passes over the tip. Too much shoveling. Drag too tight (bumped it up slightly at last 90 mins of fight), and abrasion on main line from shoveling and line scraping the guide brackets. Keep replaying the woulda coulda shoulda in my head. But no good decisions other than less drag, more patience, and sensitivity to a long fight puts a lot of strain on everything including the captain!
