2 lbs short ribs, Korean style

Marinade:
1/2 large Asian pear, peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces
1/4 large onion , сut into 1 inch pieces
4 large cloves of garlic
1/2 inch thick ginger root, thinly sliced
1/3 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
2 tbsp mirin
3 tbsp brown sugar
Black pepper

Kimchi fried rice:
1 tbsp oil
1 cup kimchi, drained
1 tsp gochujang
3 cups day old rice
1/3 cup kimchi brine
2 tsp toasted sesame oil
2 tsp soy sauce
Green onion

Smashed cucumber salad:
One large English cucumber
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tsp toasted sesame oil
2 tsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp hot pepper flakes
1 tsp sugar
1/8 tsp grated ginger
Fresh cilantro and green onion
