Birinci Dünya müharibəsində Osmanlı türklərinin göstərdiyi şücaət Gəncədə 22 yaşlı şair Əhməd Cavadın qəlbində böyük coşqunluq yaradır. Şair hisslərini 1914-cü ilin 14 dekabrında “Çırpınırdı Qara dəniz” adlı şeirində əks etdirir. 1918-ci ildə böyük bəstəkar Üzeyir Hacıbəyli tərəfindən yazılan notlar şeirlə birləşir və bu ölməz əsər türk millətinin marşına çevrilir.

The bravery shown by the Ottoman Turks in the First World War created great excitement in the heart of the 22-year-old poet Ahmad Javad in Ganja. On December 14, 1914, the poet reflected his emotions in the poem titled "Çırpınırdı Qara dəniz” (The Black Sea Raged). In 1918, the notes written by the great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli were combined with the poem and this immortal work was transformed into the march of the Turkic nations.
