For years the war had been against Germany. If anything it was a miracle that the war hadn't reached its end yet. In January 1945 the cities of the Reich were nothing but rubble and the armed forces simply didn't have the resources they so desperately needed. Despite all this, they held. This state of affairs could not continue forever, though, and 1945 brought things to a close. By this time, too, Hitler was essentially a dead man walking. The Fuhrer had Parkinsons disease amongst a dozen other issues, whether he would even survive the year naturally wasn't a given. This was the man who had to fight essentially the entire world against all odds. It was never going to end well. This is the story of Adolf Hitler's final year.
