Looking for Atlantis is a project created by musician / producer José Gabriel Gentile

In his words:
"Stellar" captures the deep bond between a mother and her son and the intense grief that follows her departure from this world. It reflects mv personal journey, both as a person and an artist and is a heartfelt tribute to my beloved mother, Estela.

The music felt like a cosmic waltz, bringing to mind Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey film, particularly the scenes with the floating fetus among stars and nebulae, accompanied by Strauss's Blue Danube.

In the lyrics, the concept of birth amidst the vastness of the universe intertwines with the death of my mother, Estela. Her absence dismantled a kind of protective energy I hadn’t realized was there, leaving me in a state of apparent instability.

The verses explore the journey into confusion, while the choruses reflect the comfort of love. The story reveals that chaos and despair are merely effects of grief, and that the essence of one who laves deeply remains within.

Though initially crafted on guitar, the song’s expansive vision led me to reimagine it on piano and orchestra for a richer, cinematic effect. We employed an innovative technique to capture the essence of a 48-piece orchestra with just a handful of musicians. By simulating a concert hall experience from 50 meters away and using distant microphones, we recorded each musician from distinct angles, creating the illusion of a grand orchestral performance. This approach granted us remarkable flexibility and freedom in the mixing process.

The track also features synths and an avant-garde section where Gregorian chants blend with radio waves, all meticulously crafted to place the piano and orchestra in a sci-fi realm.

I envisioned a female voice illuminating the lead, reminiscent of the ethereal quality found in Nick Cave and Warren Ellis's album Carnage. Meli Gutierrez’s exquisite tone was the perfect match to imbue "Stellar" with an angelic radiance, embodying the feminine presence intrinsic to the song.

The music video, directed by Nico Guerrini, vividly illustrates the song’s narrative through evocative imagery. It was deeply moving to see Jose as my mother and Salvi as my childhood self, depicted in scenes drawn from real life, enriched with personal details. The footage includes poignant moments like my mother at the piano as a girl, her horse in the field, and memories of her dancing alone or reading while smoking, all captured with intimate precision.

Lyrics:

Stellar

Following stardust in a space unknown
It takes me far into the dark
Looking for guidelines and a place to go
Away from the haze of the sun

I guess I'm dreaming her ethereal face
Drawn on the surface of the moon
I sense a presence but I'm not sure
A halo embraces me like a womb

Time stops, It feels good
All I need is right here
Massive love, stellar
Elation rejoices me
As she takes me right into the light
right into the light

I have my head loaded with question marks
But no words can burst out of my mouth
I always wondered if she is happy now
And the answer comes to me somehow

Time stops, It feels good
All I need is right here
Massive love, stellar
Elation rejoices me
There's no pain, no more fear
The shadows disappeared
I connect, she warmly
Radiates what feeds me
As we're aiming right into the light
Right into the light

Time stops, It feels good
All I need is right here
Massive love, stellar
Elation rejoices me
There's no pain, no more fear
The shadows disappeared
Immense joy protects me
A relief expanding
Slowly as I blend into the light
Slowly as I blend into the light
