"Everybody loves a clown, so why don't you?"

The 3rd album in the Playboys' discography was intended by Gary Lewis as something of a tribute to his father, screen comedian Jerry Lewis. From the carnival-like atmosphere to the cover photo, this is readily apparent.

But it also gives the album a good measure of cohesion. We have some fun upbeat originals as well as a few updated covers (taking tunes like "My Special Angel" and "Dreamin' " and updating them a bit. But there are still a few covers that do their best to copy other artists, such as The Everly Brothers and Manfred Mann. And the weirdest "song" they ever did is also included here. It's a very interesting ride!

No, I can't hit that note in "My Special Angel" even on a good day!
