This is the very first video created for my "Destinations" series. For this episode, I visited the Historic District of Arcadia, Florida, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Arcadia is the county seat of DeSoto County and has an estimated population of about 8,000 residents.

This is my first attempt at this type of video. I actually had a lot more commentary on some of the scenes that I was recording, but there was a lot of wind and overpowered the mic at times. I had a separate microphone with a wind guard, but it wasn't enough. Therefore, I left most of the commentary out and just had a music bed for most of the video.

Also, since I am just starting out with these type of video, please know that they will get better. I don't think I did too bad with this one, but it is definitely not the same quality as some of the other similar videos made by other people. For one thing, I just need more time in front of the camera to get comfortable with how I give my dialogue. Behind the camera, I will find more ways of capturing better and more interesting views to include in the videos. As far as the equipment, I have just some decent, basic cameras - eventually I will purchase additional accessories to help me capture better footage. And then there is the editing part of it. I am still in the beginning stages of learning how to curate and edit all of the video that I have captured.

Have you ever visited Arcadia, Florida? If you have, what was your favorite part of the city? Leave me a comment below.
