The Pacific Lumber Co milled many million board feet of lumber in the coastal areas around Eureka, California.

The company had a large mill at Scotia, their ‘company town’. It owned many steam logging locomotives. In 1962, the company added to its locomotive roster two 1945-built ex-US Navy Baldwin VO 1000’s.

One of these, TPLCo #104, is presented here along with their 30’ center cupola caboose, #5.

#104 brings empty 40’ flat cars to their mill and then takes loads back to Eureka for shipment from the harbor there.

Hope you enjoy this trip back in time!
