Steven McRae is a Principal of the Royal Ballet in London and a gifted tap dancer. For the video series Musica Maestra, Alondra de la Parra meets the Australian dancer on the sidelines of a performance of “Romeo and Juliet” at the Royal Opera House in London. The Mexican conductor talks to McRae about his first ballet lessons in Sydney, winning the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland, his appointment to the Royal Ballet School in London and his great passion: tap dancing, which he’s always practiced throughout his life. And of course, Steven McRae also gives Alondra de la Parra a little tap-dancing masterclass.
