We arrive into Lanzarote and immediately fall in love with its distinctive and unique charm. To us, it was an example of humans planting themselves on a landscape where we just didn’t belong. What was great to see was the locals attempts to use the natural beauty in and amongst their houses and towns. One guy who pioneered a lot of these designs was Caesar Manrique who we found very inspiring. He loves Lanzarote for what it is (a pumice minefield) and this pure passion now drives thousands to this island for holidays every year (whether or not they leave their resorts is a different story altogether…). We continue onto the other islands where we realise they are all so different yet all full of naturistic qualities, sports-addicts and amazing food. Totally wish we could of stayed there longer…
Our last destination is Las Palmas where we spend a while getting the boat ready for her crossing across the Atlantic. Super exciting!!!
