This is my conversation with Ralf Wadephul. It took place on 5/18/2021 from his home in Germany.

Born 1958 in Berlin. The musical interests of Ralf were awakened from a very early age on. His first experiences with the piano and the organ were soon followed by synthesizers that were already on their setup list. He cultivated his excellent playing technique at the “Hochschule der Künste”, where he was awarded the diploma as a sound designer.

He started into countless performances with famous bands, performed in the top music clubs in Berlin, and conducted musical electronic experiments in his home studio. Ralf came together with Edgar Froese (Tangerine Dream) at the end of the eighties.

As a keyboardist at Tangerine Dream, he completed a very extensive tour through North America, and composed film music. Thereafter the collaboration with TD ended. The subsequent loose cooperation with E. Froese ended in 2010 with the album "blue dawn". In the meantime Ralf produced two albums of his own with friends. In September 2015 he founded the ORCHESTRA OF ELECTRIC SPACEJAZZ together with Peter Pasch.
