Relax and enjoy the process as I paint the portrait of Geena Davis as Barbara Maitland from the wedding scene in Beetlejuice. 🎨🖤 Watch as I prep watercolor paper for oil painting alla prima (wet on wet), with a few captions guiding you along the way. You’ll see the ups and downs as I navigate the challenges of this painting process. I go directly into the painting - no tracing, no pencil sketch. I do this for two reasons. One, so I can practice painting directly what I see, and two, I like to see where my oil paints and brushes take me. To me that's what's so fun about painting wet on wet and without any initial sketch or tracing of the portrait. So it's a bit of a rocky start, but I make through to the end. All this set to mysteriously mellow music perfect for a cozy, peaceful Fall day 🍁 🍂
