On Saturday July 13, 2024 guests were able to meet a beekeeper, Kathy Carr from HoCo Beekeepers Association. Children were able to learn the importance of pollinators, honey and how it is made. Have fun making a craft, played pollinator bingo, and help build a pollinator house.

“Bees, Butterflies, and Pollinstors” was for children aged 5+ that filled the Porch/Garden, Schoolroom, Great Room, and Company Store. They got a taste of local honey, learned all about bees, the architecture of hives, and the art of honey-making. The children played Pollinator Bingo, and fashioned colorful butterfly & bee puppets to take home. Thanks to Society staff, volunteers, and helpers for a great & tasty experience!

The Ellicott Mills Children’s Museum (EMCM) is an interactive, hands-on educational center focusing on the history and culture of those who lived and worked in a 19th century mill town. EMCM is divided into four themed rooms and a garden: Quaker School; Great Room; Ellicott General Store; Mill Display; 1804 Garden. For children of all ages and their parents, plan a visit soon.

Children’s Museum is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5 for fun drop-in activities.
