1956 Ford (vin # U6MG141063) ... This 56 Ford was taken off the frame and restored in 2009-2010. I have a few pictures of the car before and off the frame as well.
The paint is single stage acrylic enamel and it looks great… Not perfect. The body is all steel and only one panel was replaced and one patch panel. As stated above all of the glass is new and the glass molding and trim.
The motor is a Ford 302ci (1980 motor) rebuilt completely bored .060 and balanced. It has a 750 dual line Holley with headers and Flow master exhaust. The tires are new on steel wheels. The transmission is a Borg Warner T5 5-speed rebuilt from Commerce, GA. It has front disc brakes on a Fairmont front end, the rear end is 57 Ford 9”, and it has front and rear sway bars and rear air lift shocks. The front bucket seats are Lincoln and the drivers is power. All of the lights and turn signals work, lights up pretty well for night cruising.
This car runs, rides, and drives very well and it’s a really good car
The Mainline came standard with an overhead-valve six-cylinder that displaced 215 cid and made 101 hp. A 239-cid L-head engine was optional, and it used a two-barrel carburetor to create 110 hp. A three-speed manual transmission was standard, while overdrive and Ford-O-Matic were optional with either motor. The Fairlane became the king of the hill just in time for the redesigned 1955 model year, and with it arrived a new hardtop coupe designed to pull sales away from rival GM. It was dubbed the Fairlane Victoria. The Ford Mainline is an automobile which was produced by Ford in the United States in the models years 1952 to 1956. Ford's passenger car production number (excluding Thunderbird totals) for model year 1956 was 1,392,847 units. Of those, a total of 33,130 were the two-door hardtop Customline Victoria like the model shown here owned by Jimmy Blackburn of Texarkana,
