Hi guys! This video discusses the concept of power factor as well as power factor correction. Basically when we deal with ac source and apply a load impedance across it, we created an apparent power which is composed of true and reactive power. The true power measured in watts is the actual power being used in real life. Power factor is the ratio of true power and apparent power. The goal of power factor correction is to make the power factor equal to ideal value which is 1. This can be achieved by putting in parallel across the load impedance a capacitor which will reduce the reactive power to almost zero, thereby making the load impedance purely resistive. We show example and situation on how we apply power factor correction in order to maximize the power being supplied by the source. Happy learning and enjoy watching! #electronics #engineering #tagalog
