What does it take to complete a full drawing from start to finish?

In this hour-long gold subscriber special, Lydia Cecil will be taking us through a complete (many hours, condensed to one) drawing of model Bethany's striking figure pose in charcoal and chalk. We will be looking at structuring in an anatomical way, learning about value layouts, backgrounds, light impressions and finally rendering with edges to create a finished look.

Lydia will be using chalk and charcoal on grey paper, which means a large value range. It follows a similar format you could expect to find in one of Raw Umber's in-person workshops on chalk and charcoal drawing. These techniques are also invaluable when applied to painting, so whether it’s drawing or painting you’re interested in, this is a handy sped-up example with commentary.
