Camshaft firing order swaps for Chevy engines that swap the order of the 4 and 7 cylinders are common, but what do they do for power? And why does the LS engine series have both 4-7 and 3-2 swapped for a firing order of 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3? It's explained here in this video: the 4/7 swap tends to make a little power, at least on carbureted engines, and the 4/7 and 3/2 swap more evenly distributes the loads on the crankshaft mains.

Also, a custom cam can be ground to alter the firing order on any engine with the 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 firing order. See my prior video for details.
