Surprises abound at the Appalachian appraisal fair, which tells us there's potential to be found in local vintage shopping! We take a quick shopping break in the local vendor's mall before we start back on the appraisals, and are delighted to find some goodies we can resell (and collect), some priced to rival the thrift stores. A terrific modernist enamel compote, a sparkling Manhattan tab handled bowl and a glass that can do over 100 catch our eye.

Back at the appraisal fair, errors and mistakes are the order of the day! A misprinted $50, a three-legged Buffalo and a not-quite-right Pokemon card show us that perfect isn't always as good as glorious imperfection! Some really heavy and mysterious things appear...one turns out to be 300 million years old and better known to local collectors than those of us passing through. It's so great to get to learn something new, even while I'm sharing my knowledge!

There's a lot of fun vintage items in this appraisal fair, from 1960s swung vases and a 1970s owl clock to important sports memorabilia. But the biggest surprise is so valuable, it can't be disclosed for security reasons! Surprises are what make giving (and watching) appraisal fairs so entertaining...you'll find more with us as this video rolls.
