How to make the strategic objectives. Alignment of objectives with strategic planning.

Learn how to make strategic objectives and align them with strategic planning.

It is called strategic objectives to the objectives set by an organization to achieve certain goals and long-term position of the organization in a specific market, that is, are the results that the company hopes to achieve in a period of more than a year, performing actions that allow him to fulfill his mission, inspired by the vision

The objectives must be achievable; Practical, realistic and clearly communicated to ensure success, as they help the parties who are interested in their achievement to understand their role in the future of the organization, establishing the priorities of this. In addition, they largely represent the meaning and purpose of it, provide a basis for consistent decision-making by managers with disparate values and attitudes, design positions and organize activities to be carried out in the company

According to Antonio Francés and Humberto Serna Gómez, the following process can be proposed for the formulation of strategic objectives:

1. Carry out meetings with the key people of the organization, and using tools such as brainstorming, collect the most relevant information and proceed to formulate the strategic objectives of the company, focusing on the areas or activities (marketing, production , profitability, growth among others) that make up the organization.
2. Define the objectives on the basis of an action, indicated by a verb in infinitive.
3. Debug the list of objectives, that is, observe those that are redundant and reformulate them so that they can be included in only one. It is necessary to organize future work within each area. It is necessary to prioritize the objectives of each one, defining the most important objective (s) that will concentrate the attention. It may also be that the objectives of each area are related in such a way that one of them remains as a general objective and the others as part of the strategy to be achieved.
4. Use indicators that are only variables associated with the objectives used to measure their achievement and to express the goals
