An easy way to boost your graphics performance, on a Mac, is with an external graphics card (or eGPU). This video will show you how to use an external GPU with an older mac mini, macbook, iMac or whatever Thunderbolt 2 device you have.
UPDATE One thing I forgot to mention, in the video, is that you need to disable SIP on your Mac to use Purge-Wrangler script.
