We take a deep dive into Atomika, a new instrument from our friends at Cherry Audio that recreates the sound (and look) of the classic Soviet synthesizer Polivoks. Polivoks was infamous for its wild filter based on programmable op amps that can go from traditional resonant filter sounds to unstable and gnarly shouts and warbles. This is has been reproduced in this version, which was made in collaboration with Mark Barton, who co-designed several other of the Cherry Audio instruments we have reviewed.
