American professional eater Randy Santel versus ROST's Swedish Burger Record Challenge at ROST Hamburger Restaurant and Bar in Ängelholm, Sweden of Scandinavia!! For man vs food challenge #5 of six in Sweden, ‪@KatinaEatsKilos‬ and I headed south from Varberg down to Ängelholm so that I could try to set a new burger record at ROST Hamburger Restaurant and Bar. This Swedish burger record challenge has been available for many years, which increases in size every time that somebody wins, by eating at least 100 grams more of burger than the previous record, within the one hour time limit. A Swedish local named Rickard ate 2.7kg (5.94lbs) and then our British friend ‪@Beardmeatsfood‬ visited ROST and set a new record by eating 3kg (6.6lbs). Within the week, Rickard went back and ate 3.3kg (7.26lbs) of burgers to set a new record. There is a one hour time limit to finish as much Swedish burger meat, cheese, and toppings as possible. I tried to finish 3.5kg (7.7lbs) of burgers, and the weight includes cheese slices, toppings, sauces, and the buns. Thankfully, no sides are included. There were twenty-four (24) 115 gram Swedish beef hamburger patties used to make my burger, split up into three 8-patty burgers. I ordered three different specialty burgers from the menu. Two of the burgers had cheese slices on each layer, which was optimal, but the "Burger of the Week" that I ordered only had cheese and toppings on the very top patty, beneath the top bun. It all weighed just over 3.5kg pre-cooked. Fail and pay 1,000 SEK (~$94 USD). Winners get the entire burger meal free, plus a sweet t-shirt, a 1,000 SEK ROST gift certificate to come back and use later, and a spot at the top of ROST's Wall of Fame hanging up inside the restaurant.
