Dear Oscar, the deceased pet blues with the surprise ending, features the real trumpet playing of Linda’s second son Keefer Rogers, plus the “twenty-five cent trumpet” as we called the comb and plastic in Cuba, a huge hit with the kids there. This dragonfly and shoebox funeral drawing remains a favourite!

The album was released as a combination of a book and cassette sold separately or together. All songs were written and performed by Linda Rogers and Rick Van Krugel, and all instrumental playing by Rick Van Krugel unless otherwise noted. With one exception, all the drawings in the book that accompany the songs or poems are by Rick Van Krugel.
