Urakawa is a town of about 11,000 people facing the Pacific Ocean.
This town is famous for racehorses, Hidaka kelp, and earthquakes.
In addition, in recent years strawberries are also a specialty of this town.
Urakawa Town is divided into four major districts (Ogifushi, Sakaimachi, Odori, Higashimachi, and Nishisha). Of these, Odori is the administrative area, and Sakaimachi is the living area.
Walking along National Route 235, you will see a famous bakery on the ocean side. However, there are few shops on the national highway.
If you go from the national highway to the road on the mountainside, you will find Fureai Park. There are many restaurants surrounding the park.
There are shops in old buildings on the street and snacks in the small alleys of the residential area.
There is also a restaurant famous for Urakawa's soul food, "Katsumeshi", and unfortunately I couldn't eat it this time due to time constraints.
