In January 2016, after quitting my job and leaving everything behind, I set out to travel solo from Hong Kong to Istanbul in the middle of winter. My aim: travel by any means overland and climb at least one mountain in every country visited.

Along the way, I was lost in a land-mined jungle, detained, interrogated and spied upon. I skirted avalanches, frost-bite and severe dehydration as I completed fourteen audacious mountain climbs in eleven countries.

I celebrated three new year festivals, partied with locals and found forgotten dinosaur footprints in a remote Tajik valley. This is a glimpse into my journey into some of the most scarcely documented corners of Asia.
