Earlier this month, Lyric proudly welcomed Kappa Alpha Psi® Fraternity leaders from around the region to a performance of FIRE SHUT UP IN MY BONES. In this conversation, the fraternity's Grand Polemarch, Reuben A. Shelton III, Esq., speaks with Eric Smith, Vice Chair of Lyric's Board of Directors and a member of the fraternity, about Kappa Alpha Psi's history and legacy of success. The new opera is composed by Terence Blanchard and based on Charles M. Blow's memoir which is also entitled FIRE SHUT UP IN MY BONES. The production reflects the 3H's: History, Heritage and Homage. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity embodies an appreciation for the arts, and extends commendation to Mr. Blow who is a member of the fraternity.
