On a chilly, windy Tuesday morning of spring break 2021, the Kaneland Boys Track team was no doubt grinding. In particular, the distance runners had a time trial. After being inspired by the brave effort of those running the 400, the terror of a pole vault pit in the middle of the track, and the cries of support from our sprinting friends, we took the line.

2 laps later I dropped a 2:13 new 800m PR, just behind Aaron’s 2:10 and I finished second after a blazing kick to pass Isaiah “ID” Dallal.
