I went round the Izu Torishima by ship. Torishima is an isolated island on the Pacific Ocean, 582 km south of Tokyo. The island is famous as a breeding ground for seabirds such as albatross.
In 1841, five fishermen including John Manjiro miraculously landed on the island. After living 143 days, there is a history rescued by an American whaling ship.
