Have you heard the story about the wealthy man who owned land, a factory and a beautiful mansion who fell in love with a young working girl, only to be driven from his home and have it burn to the ground? No, it’s not the tale of Jane Eyre. This is the story of Horace Childs and Childsdale, a lost village from a lost time, one of a few such early towns in Plainfield Township.
But what difference does it make if we know, or don’t know, about these tales? Deb welcomes her guest Norm VanSoest, a historian of the disappearing history in Plainfield Township.
