Hello again and welcome back to a new episode to this time-lapse polymer clay sculpting demonstration, where I'm making an elephant. I show you everything I do and later reflect on it during a very relaxing narration. This is part 5 to an ongoing video series so if you're new to this channel/page you can jump right in and catch up here:

Part 1:    • Sculpting an Elephant, part 1: Armature!

Keeping things very simple in this video by breaking it up into 2 parts, all I do in this first part is get an even amount of clay onto the armature wire of this sculpture paying close attention to consistency. My approach to this was just adding a sheet of clay (50-50 mixture of Super and Firm, from Sculpey) at full thickness by wrapping it around the armature wire, just over one full wrap. Then to make it slightly thicker I added one more sheet of clay at one-third of the pasta machine's max thickness (that's setting 3 on mine) This gave the lags a thickness similar to the THINNEST point of all legs.

From here I'll build out the legs with more clay, like I did with the back and ribs area... coming up next!! In the meantime I hope you guys enjoy this, please please please help me as a youtuber by commenting, liking, and sharing these projects with your friends. Liking and commenting on Facebook helps me too!
