After arriving at the volcanic island of Thera in search of clues about the lesser Atlantean colony, Indiana Jones discovers that his companion, Sophia Hapgood, has been kidnapped by the Nazis.

Indy faces the added pressure of rescuing Sophia, who has a special connection to the Atlantean civilization through her medallion and her relationship with the spirit of King Nur-Ab-Sal.
