Watch how we save this old bathroom vanity wash bowl.

Customer had an old porcelain vanity sink bowl that had separated from the granite countertop. They asked us to save the bowl and rebuild the tailpiece and drain, but they wanted to keep the existing faucet in place.

This is in an old historic house in Cambridge. The bowl had been reused when they renovated back in the 80's. It appears the contractor never caulked or otherwise sealed the joint from the bowl to the granite and as a result, water ended up corroding the bowl clips under the granite surface. It's not a good idea to drill into old water soaked granite, so instead of installing new clips, we used a undermount sink repair kit brackets, added a Kohler clicker pop up drain and sealed the bowl to counter with 100% Silicone caulk.
