My Maid of Honor speech for my identical twin sister. She said to me after, "If perfection exists in this world, it's that speech!"

Celebrating my beautiful sister's wedding: 8/28/21. Chels, I'm so glad I got to be your maid of honor and help make your day magical. Thanks for not killing me when I changed my dress at the last minute.

There was no way I was going to memorize this speech. I did not want to forget to say anything! HAHA. Honestly, it took me months to write this... well, months of thinking about it and banging my head against the wall. I really wanted to capture the essence of our childhood and relationship of being an identical twin, because it's such a unique experience that not many people have, mixed in with some twin jokes, of course.

My advice for writing a speech, if you ever have to, is don't overthink it! I was stuck so I just dropped everything and surrendered, then it came to me like a bolt of lightning.

The words were flowing and I had to run and grab a pen to get it on paper before I forgot it.

I also couldn't eat or drink before my speech- I needed it to be over before I could relax and enjoy the wedding. That's just me I guess. :)

One part I left out was about a dream I had. In the dream, I was told that the reason why I’m a twin is because life would have been too hard to go through alone. So I was given a soulmate to go through life with.
