In 2010, the Spread Creek dam, located just outside of Grand Teton National Park, was removed by a partnership effort led by Trout Unlimited, opening up well over 50 miles of the Spread Creek watershed to migratory Snake River cutthroat trout for the first time in more than 50 years.

Project partners then discovered that native fish were being trapped in the Spread Creek irrigation system as they migrated downstream. Installing a fish screen on the Spread Creek irrigation system this past spring has prevented the loss of migratory cutthroat trout and other native fish.

Our latest film, “Spread Creek,” is a story about wild, native cutthroat trout and the power that partners can have when we come together.
