The abandoned Željava Airbase - once the largest aircraft cavern in Europe built during the Yugoslavian times under Tito - today a Lost Place in a class of its own.

The Douglas C-47, which is parked on the edge of the site and has become rather run-down, has become a real Instagram secret in recent years. The same goes for the entrances to the aircraft tunnels.

Unfortunately, the police were on site and we were not allowed to enter the runway as planned, nor were we advised to enter the tunnels.

But still a place worth seeing and it's worth finding out the story about it.
