For my trumpet players, in this video I share my thoughts on one of the most overanalyzed aspects of trumpet geekdom (of which I am a charter member) - the EMBOUCHURE. Overanalyzed or not, it's extremely important to have an embouchure set up that works for YOU, and allows you the freedom to play the music you hear in your head. Here I breakdown some fundamental aspects of the embouchure, and give you a simple formula that has helped me a ton in avoiding common pitfalls, and has helped me to keep my focus on the music.
