Can you have an improvement in lung function if you suffer from pulmonary fibrosis in the context of an interstitial lung disease (ILD)?
Some forms of ILDs with pulmonary fibrosis can have a reversible component, which may respond to some treatments. Alternatively, the improvement in lung capacities may be due to not having very good numbers previously (due to technique performing spirometry, or measurement errors). Also, some changes, both up and down may be part of normal variability in the lung function measurements.
