First time we came to Malaysia for Chinese New Year. A night flight took us from Guangzhou to Kota Kinabalu, which is the capital of the state of Sabah, and is located on the huge island of Borneo (Kalimantan). At first impressions, this is an ordinary Asian city, but there is excellent seafood and a bunch of exotic fruits and everything at reasonable prices.

We settled in Halo Hostel with excellent staff and immediately decided to find out how it was with the beaches. First of all, we went to the city beach Tanju Aru, but it did not please us at all. And we decided to explore the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, where, according to the locals, the best beaches are located. We visited the islands of Gaya and Manukan. Indeed, the beaches there are great!

Also, lobsters, crabs, durian and other delicious seafood and fruits are sold in the city at great prices.

Malaysia Kota Kinabalu is the state capital of Sabah. Located on the northwest coast of Borneo (Kalimantan) facing the South China Sea. We've been to Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park (Gaya Island and Manukan Island). Best beaches are there.
