Arundel Ancient Castle, Stately Home and Beautiful Gardens, West Sussex, UK – A Day Out - July 2019
This video includes views of the Arundel Castle which has Norman origins from 1067, Stately Home and Gardens.
We climbed the steep narrow winding stairs in the castle that were made to help stop the enemy entering and I have included clips of the tower, the views, some displays that created the lifestyle taken place in the castle, also knowledge from the friendly guides.
The Fitzalan chapel was founded in 1380. Restoration has been made over the years and it is still used.
This video includes some of the beautiful inspirational gardens, and relaxing water features. The present Duchess of Norfolk has continued to extend the planting at Arundel and created new gardens too over the last 20 years. The Fitzalan Chapel Garden is peacefully planted as a knot garden, White flower beds are around a small pond and there are 4 Palm trees.
Included are some clips of the stately homes Bedrooms that have recently been used. The sumptuous Victoria Room was especially made for Queen Victoria & Prince Albert 1846 by George Morant, but they did not stay in the room, they were given a suite of 6 rooms.
The clips include beautiful carved furniture, table decorations and armoury.
We enjoyed tea and cake in The Fitzalan (not shown in the video), there is also a restaurant.
We were able to view areas of our choice at our own pace. A good 3 to 4 hours is recommended.
This is only a very small view of this wonderful historic venue. The friendly Guides were very helpful and willing to pass on their knowledge.
Clips are also included of the Castles beautiful surroundings where you can stroll into or out of the town.
There are special events held at the castle during the year.
Parking is opposite the castle.
Thank you to Edward Norfolk for a lovely day and thank you for watching.
I look forward to your comments - Enjoy
